Cumin Seeds

Regency Cumin is available in the finest Chinese, Indian and other origin cumin seed varieties. The strong aromatic smell and warm, bitter-ish taste of Cumin fruits are due to the presence of a volatile oil which is separated by distillation of the fruit with water, and exists in the proportion of 2 to 4 per cent. It is limpid and pale yellow in colour. Cumin seeds are used as a spice for their distinctive characteristics, and is commonly used in South Asian, Northern African and Latin American cuisines. It is a staple in various curries, soups, stews and spiced gravies. Cumin is also used in several cheeses and breads.
