Cloves

Regency Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of a tree. It is one of the ancient valuable spices of the Orient and is native to Indonesia where it originated (Moluccas, the Spice Island in Indonesia). It is used as a spice in cuisine all over the world. Cloves are harvested primarily in Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pemba (now parts of Tanzania) and Indonesia, and also grown in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Comoros, and India. Cloves are used in many cuisines around the world especially in Indian, Arabic, Sri Lankan, Indonesian, and Western cuisines. In India it is used in garam masala, biryani and pickles, in the U.S., cloves are used in meats, salad dressings, and desserts. It is a major contributor to worchestershire sauce seasoning blends. Many German and Chinese also use it to season meat, bread and cookies.
